Coco Gauff is preparing for another season on the WTA Tour, starting with another United Cup appearance for the USA.
Gauff made her WTA debut in 2019, and has come on leaps and bounds since then, although she was impressive from the very start.
The 21-year-old has climbed as high as number two in the world rankings, and already has 11 WTA titles to her name.
Now world number three, Gauff clinched two of those titles in the 2025 season, with her success including a second career Grand Slam title at the French Open.

Andy Roddick says Coco Gauff is the best at winning despite discomfort
The American achieved the success despite clear struggles with her serve, with double faults being a particular area of concern.
Gauff hired Gavin MacMillan before the US Open in a bid to solve the problem, which former world number one Andy Roddick has now referenced in his latest analysis of the WTA star.
He said on his Served podcast: “With Coco at number three, and I think this is what we are going to start doing when we cover her moving forward as it’s only fair, we are not going to start from a negative place.
“We are going to talk about how she is able to settle in. How she is able to apply her game. How she is able to create errors and stress for her opponent, to rely on her legs.
“She has one of the biggest and hardest backhands in the world that people do not talk about enough. She is able to work the forehand to drive traffic. She sets up her defense with patterns. It is not an accident.
“To go through things that are physically and mentally not working and to get through it and win consistently is a superpower.
“There is no world where anyone else on earth can be dealing with 20 or 25 double faults and we are looking up and at scale, not for a tournament, every year she is two in the world, three in the world. She does not leave those positions.
“It does not matter how much we see her struggle. We have to give credit where credit is due for Coco at some point.
“If the losses are ugly, I don’t care. She is the best in the world at being uncomfortable on a given day and getting a win.”
Who is your favorite player on the WTA Tour right now?
What is Coco Gauff’s double faults record on the WTA Tour?
Roddick certainly isn’t wrong about Gauff and her double faults, with the young American unfortunately leading the way in that regard in recent WTA history.
Her 431 double faults were well ahead of Ekaterina Alexandrova in second place in 2025, with the latter hitting 300.

Gauff also topped the pile in 2024 with 430, with current world number one Aryna Sabalenka almost quitting tennis because of her issues in that area not so long ago.
The American can indeed take great motivation from the Belarusian, who has clearly overcome her issues to become the leading player on the WTA Tour.
