Alexander Zverev has reflected on his semifinal defeat at the BMW Open on social media.

Zverev was beaten by Flavio Cobolli in the semifinals, bringing an end to his title defence in Munich.

This means that Zverev has now not won a title in the past 12 months, despite still being the world number three.

Following his exit from the BMW Open, Zverev has revealed how he is feeling after losing to Cobolli.

Zverev has already suffered five semifinal defeats this year, with three of those being inflicted by Jannik Sinner.

After playing a tournament every week for the last seven weeks, Zverev admitted that his batteries had run out.

However, Zverev was still feeling positive after his semifinal defeat to Cobolli in Munich.

Zverev wrote on Instagram, “The last few weeks have been intense and very positive. Everyone’s batteries run out at some point. Time to recharge.

“Thank you Munich for the great support (love heart emoji). As always, it was special to play for you.”
