After an extremely competitive season on the ATP and WTA tours in 2024, the focus of the tennis world has already gone to who will win the Grand Slam singles title in 2025.
Winning a Grand Slam title marks the crowning achievement of many player’s careers. A raft of stars from the biggest names on both tours to rising hopefuls strive to peak at the perfect moment to win it all at the Australian Open, the French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open.
The Australian Open kicks off the Slam season soon into 2025 as tennis’ best and brightest fly over to Melbourne Park in January. ATP Tour and WTA Tour world No1s Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka will be looking to defend their singles titles from the 2024 Australian Open.

Further crowns on clay could also await Carlos Alcaraz and Iga Swiatek at the French Open in 2025 after taking the Roland Garros singles titles in 2024. Alcaraz was also class on grass in 2024 as the Spaniard won Wimbledon, where Barbora Krejcikova lifted the women’s title.
Hard courts presented Sinner and Sabalenka with their chances to shine in 2024, though, as the Italian and Belarusian added to their Australian Open triumphs by winning the US Open titles. Yet Sinner had entered the 2024 season without a single Grand Slam title to his name.
So, can another player follow Sinner and go from having zero Grand Slam titles to being the champion at the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and/or US Open in 2025? Well, our expert writers at The Tennis Gazette have predicted every 2025 Gram Slam champion…
Novak Djokovic predicted to dethrone Australian Open champion Jannik Sinner in 2025

Liam Llewellyn: “Following his success on hard courts throughout 2024, it is difficult to look beyond Jannik Sinner retaining his Australian Open title at Melbourne Park in 2025.
“However, he will face stiff competition from Carlos Alcaraz, who is looking to become the youngest man to win all four Grand Slams if he wins Down Under
“Of course, the record 10-time winner Novak Djokovic cannot be ruled out given his success at the Australian Open. He now may have an edge on the Serbian’s opponents after Djokovic hired Andy Murray as his coach, too, as he goes in search of a 25th Grand Slam title.”
George Patten: “It feels as if the story has already been written for Novak Djokovic to win his 25th Grand Slam title at the Australian Open alongside Andy Murray in 2025.
“Murray finally getting his hands on the Australian Open trophy working together with the man who prevented him from doing so four times in his career in Djokovic would simply be poetic and not all that unlikely.”
Peter Lynch: “I’m not only expecting a strong season for Novak Djokovic but a strong start with Australian Open glory. He should be desperate to return to Grand Slam success after blanking in 2024, and his record 10 titles here make him a great contender.”
Aryna Sabalenka backed to win a third straight Australian Open title in 2025

Liam Llewellyn: “On the women’s side, Aryna Sabalenka has not lost a Grand Slam match on hard courts since the 2023 US Open and it would take something special to stop her from winning a third straight title at the Australian Open in 2025.”
George Patten: “Qinwen Zheng made her first Grand Slam final in Melbourne last year and it wouldn’t at all be surprising to see her do it again in 2025. Fresh off of an impressive WTA Finals display, the Chinese superstar may well grab her first Major title in the new year.”
Peter Lynch: “Hat-trick of US Open titles for Aryna Sabalenka? Yes, please. She’s a force to behold on hard courts and she’ll start 2025 as she finished 2024 by lifting a major trophy.”
Carlos Alcaraz faces a tricky French Open title defence at Roland Garros in 2025

Liam Llewellyn: “Carlos Alcaraz won the French Open in 2024 despite playing very few matches on a clay surface before the tournament and entered the Grand Slam coming off the back of an arm injury.
“He still won the tournament, so with a full clay court season behind him and at full fitness it is tough to bet against Alcaraz defending the French Open title in 2025.”

George Patten: “Jannik Sinner would likely head into the French Open as a slight underdog compared to Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic, but that may not stop him from winning his third Grand Slam title. The Italian has won several titles on clay in his career to date, and could well win his first Major title away from hard courts in Paris next year.”
Peter Lynch: “After two Grand Slam final defeats, I’m backing Alexander Zverev to finally get over the line at the 2025 French Open by emerging victorious at Roland Garros. He should be full of motivation after losing the 2024 final to Carlos Alcaraz.”
Coco Gauff tipped to win at Roland Garros despite Iga Swiatek’s French Open dominance

Liam Llewellyn: “Coco Gauff seems to have found her groove again following her two title wins at the end of 2024. She has always been strong on clay and it’s only Iga Swiatek who has beaten Gauff at the French Open since 2022.
“The American will have gained conference from beating Swiatek at November’s WTA Finals and Gauff will believe she can replicate that performance on clay and in particular at the French Open should they meet again.”
George Patten: “She may not quite be at ‘Nadal’ numbers yet but a fifth Roland Garros title for Iga Swiatek at the 2025 French Open would certainly point her in the right direction.
“The Pole looks unbeatable on clay, much like a certain Spaniard once did, and it would take a monumental effort for anyone to take her down. Unless Swiatek meets her ‘Robin Soderling’ in Paris next year, expect her to win a fourth consecutive French Open title.”
Peter Lynch: “Given Coco Gauff’s vast improvement under Matt Daly, I think the WTA Finals champion can clinch her second career Grand Slam title in Paris.
“She knows what it takes to win one under huge pressure, and can now win another if she manages to get her serving game right from day one.”
Tennis experts predict a hat-trick of Wimbledon titles for Carlos Alcaraz in 2025

Liam Llewellyn: “Carlos Alcaraz is aiming for this third successive Wimbledon title and the Spaniard will succeed in doing so.
“He is very comfortable on grass and after beating Novak Djokovic, a seven-time champion, at SW19 in successive finals, the Spaniard will believe he can defeat anyone at Wimbledon, including his rival Jannik Sinner, who has yet to reach the final at the All-England Club.”
George Patten: “It’s not too crazy to predict the world number one as the winner of a Grand Slam. But, in fairness, Jannik Sinner is yet to reach the final at Wimbledon, whilst Carlos Alcaraz is a two-time defending champion.
“Sinner’s game is just going from strength to strength, however, and it just seems inevitable that the 23-year-old will lift the title on Center Court sooner rather than later.”
Peter Lynch: “While Carlos Alcaraz won’t quite replicate the feats of the King of Clay Rafael Nadal at the French Open, I do think the Spaniard can follow in the footsteps of his idol and compatriot by dominating Wimbledon for years to come.”
Elena Rybakina among a strong women’s field vying to win Wimbledon in 2025

Liam Llewellyn: “At Wimbledon, Elena Rybakina will peak at just the right time to regain the title she won in 2022. Back to full fitness and with a new coach in Goran Ivanisevic, who has won Wimbledon both as a player and coach, the Kazak will come through the field to become champion once again.”
George Patten: “Predicting the winner of Wimbledon in the women’s game is a daunting task considering we haven’t seen a repeat winner since Serena Williams back in 2017.
“It’s almost worth picking a name out of a hat, but there is one name that just feels right ahead of the 2025 tournament. Ons Jabeur lost two of the last three finals at SW19 and, despite falling off the radar this year, she could surprise people by finally taking home the Wimbledon title in 2025.”
Peter Lynch: “Qinwen Zheng has enjoyed a superb season, and I think the Chinese star can make her Grand Slam breakthrough at Wimbledon despite back-to-back first-round exits.”
Frances Tiafoe backed to give Jannik Sinner problems at the 2025 US Open

Liam Llewellyn: “At this point, it is difficult to look past Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka defending their titles at both hard court majors in 2025.
“Both players play with such an aggressive game style that is ideal for hard court tennis and it allows them to dominate from anywhere on the court.
“In 2024, Sabalenka dropped just one set on the way to the title at Flushing Meadows while Sinner lost just two sets on his way to glory. Whether they will both still be ranked number one on their respective tours in September 2025 remains to be seen.”
George Patten: “The smart money would be on Jannik Sinner, Novak Djokovic or Carlos Alcaraz, of course, to win the 2025 US Open. But there’s always a little bit of magic in the air when tennis arrives in New York, and something truly special could happen in 2025.
“Frances Tiafoe has now reached the semi-finals at Flushing Meadows in two of the last three seasons, and there’s something about that US Open crowd that just brings another level out of him.
“The 26-year-old might just get over the line this time around and end the long wait for an American Major champion.”
Peter Lynch: “A strong season is potentially on the cards for Novak Djokovic. You never know with the Serbian but it could be his final year before retirement, and I think he can go out with a bang in New York.”
Coco Gauff predicted to serve up a second US Open title in 2025

George Patten: “Coco Gauff won her first Grand Slam at the 2023 US Open and she might do it again in 2025. When her serve works, she truly is a formidable opponent for anyone on the WTA Tour and it might be time for her to double her Grand Slam tally in New York.”
Peter Lynch: “From zero Grand Slam titles to two in the same season is a huge step but Jannik Sinner did it in 2024 and I think Qinwen Zheng can in 2025. Like Aryna Sabalenka, she knows her way around the hard courts.”
