Another ATP Tour season has concluded, with Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner once again representing the dominant players.

Just like they did in the 2024 season, ATP superstars Alcaraz and Sinner each claimed two Grand Slam titles.

In total this season, the Spanish icon clinched a huge eight titles, more than any other player, followed by the six of his Italian rival.

Tennis doesn’t need Alcaraz and Sinner for entertainment all the time, but it’s fair to say that the duo always have fans on the edge of their seats when they do come face to face.

Jannik Sinner’s 2025 serving, returning and volleying stats vs Carlos Alcaraz

Sinner and Alcaraz met six times throughout the season, with the Spaniard claiming four wins compared to the two of the Italian.

But while he came out second best and did indeed finish the season behind Alcaraz in the 2025 year-end rankings, Sinner outshone his counterpart in the three key ATP stats categories.

How many Grand Slam titles will Jannik Sinner win in 2026?

Remarkably, not only did he produce better numbers than his main rival, but he finished ahead of every single player regarding the serve, returning and pressure stats.

For good measure, Sinner also sits at the very top of the pile for this season’s win-loss index, with Alcaraz fittingly in second.

There are two key takeaways from the 2025 seasons of Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz

There is certainly an interesting debate to be had over which player had the best season between the leading duo.

But perhaps the main takeaway should be that both players are playing extraordinary tennis right now, which simply must be appreciated.

A reminder of what happens when Jannik Sinner plays Carlos Alcaraz…

Another notable point, however, is the lack of a real challenger to the two best players in men’s tennis right now.

Arguably, Novak Djokovic shone brightest other than Sinner and Alcaraz, but the Serbian star won’t be around forever.

A handful of younger players are definitely showing themselves as potential candidates, but all look unlikely to reach the heights of the leading pair in 2026.
