Alexandra Eala and Joao Fonseca are undoubtedly two of the most exciting young players in tennis right now, with both heading for very bright futures.

Eala continued her superstardom at Indian Wells, where her huge fanbase helped her reach the round of 16 on debut.

Her Brazilian ATP counterpart also enjoyed a fantastic run to the same stage, before Fonseca was beaten by Jannik Sinner.

The WTA and ATP tours are filled with young talent at this moment in time, with five players arguably standing out above the crowd.

Alexandra Eala

Eala is yet to win a WTA title, but she has rapidly become one of the most popular players in the entire sport, not just women’s tennis.

Her huge fanbase is constantly cheering her on at every event she plays, where tournament organizers have been left with no choice but to bow to their every need.

That could be in the form of a main court match or a wildcard, which the Filipina superstar can expect to continue in the coming months.

Joao Fonseca

Another player with a massive fanbase, Fonseca pushed Sinner very hard before eventually losing out to the formidable Italian at Indian Wells.

That arrived after wins over Tommy Paul and Karen Khachanov, with the 19-year-old clearly more than capable of causing upsets despite his youth and inexperience.

His loyal following has always been well aware of the threat that he poses on the court, but more and more people are now starting to realise just how dangerous Fonseca can be.

Learner Tien

Like Fonseca, Learner Tien is a former Next Gen ATP Finals champion, fittingly along with current superstars Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.

The American, who has already claimed big wins in his brief career so far, is now looking for another at Indian Wells.

The 20-year-old has defeated Ben Shelton and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina to earn a blockbuster quarterfinal clash with Sinner in the desert, where he’s seeking a second career title.

Iva Jovic

Another young American with huge potential, Iva Jovic has enjoyed a phenomenal 2026 season on the WTA Tour.

She is only 18, but is already a top 20 player, and unlike Eala has already tasted career success thanks to her title in Guadalajara.

If tennis fans weren’t previously aware of her ability, she certainly proved it at the Australian Open, where she knocked out Jasmine Paolini before a quarterfinal defeat to world number one Aryna Sabalenka.

Victoria Mboko

Perhaps standing tallest of all is Victoria Mboko, who has continued her stunning rise by reaching the Indian Wells quarterfinals.

She’ll take on Sabalenka in California after Mboko knocked out Amanda Anisimova, with another major upset very much a possibility.

Aged just 19, Mboko is a top 10 player, with the Canadian having clinched two career titles as well as reaching two finals in 2026 alone.

A handful of other WTA and ATP players certainly deserve a special mention in this regard, including Mirra Andreeva, who is eighth in the world aged just 18.

Other rising stars include Linda Noskova and Maya Joint on the WTA Tour, and Jakub Mensik and Arthur Fils on the ATP Tour.
