Jessica Pegula is leading by example on the WTA Tour, with the American now celebrating success at the Dubai Tennis Championships.

Pegula won her first title of 2026 in Dubai, defeating Elina Svitolina 6-2, 6-4 in Dubai after one hour and 12 minutes.

She now boasts 10 career titles following success at the Dubai Tennis Championships, and four at WTA 1000 level.

Remarkably, all four of her WTA 1000 titles have come after her 28th birthday, with Pegula proving herself to be a fantastic inspiration for her rivals in more ways than one.

Which Grand Slam is Jessica Pegula most likely to win?

Jessica Pegula can be an inspiration to the rest of the WTA Tour

Pegula has not once given up despite falling short of major success in her career, having so far failed to win a Grand Slam.

But the 31-year-old clearly has the ability to challenge the very best, along with the mental strength and determination.

Her career path should be a real motivation for younger players on the WTA Tour, but also those in and around her age.

Fittingly, she defeated a mixture of youth and experience en route to the Dubai title, beating fellow veteran Svitolina and rising star Iva Jovic among others.

She’s even doing her part off the court, with Pegula leading the Tour Architecture Council, which aims to improve the WTA calendar.

Its establishment arrived amid the constant withdrawals from Qatar and Dubai, which impressively didn’t distract Pegula as she won the latter after deciding to skip the former.

Jessica Pegula’s ranking history typifies her fantastic resilience

Pegula first tasted WTA success in Washington in 2019, which helped pave the way for WTA 1000 glory in Guadalajara, Montreal WTA, Toronto WTA and now Dubai.

But epitomizing her sheer resilience is her recent rankings history, with the American not finishing in the year-end top 10 until 2022.

Pegula, who was 28 years old at that stage, has now completed that fantastic achievement for four years in a row.

She now turns her focus to the ATX Open in Austin, where the home favorite meets Rebecca Sramkova in her opening match.

Simply making all of her feats even more impressive is the fact that Pegula has been dealing with a long-term knee injury.
