Taylor Fritz is looking to immediately bounce back from his Dallas Open final defeat to Ben Shelton, taking on the Delray Beach Open.
Just as he was in Dallas, Fritz is the top seed at the Delray Beach Open, which is now underway in the United States.
The ATP 250 tournament coincides with the Qatar Open and the Rio Open in the calendar, both of which are ATP 500 tournaments.
Given his top seeding and Fritz’s Dallas final with Shelton, all eyes in Delray Beach will be on the 28-year-old, who is chasing an 11th career title.
But even with his status entering the competition, the home favorite looks unlikely to have it all his own way following the confirmation of the draw.
Which American man has the best chance of winning a Grand Slam in 2026?
Taylor Fritz handed very tough Delray Beach Open draw
Fritz has the luxury of receiving a bye in the first round, after which he will take on the winner of Ethan Quinn versus Rafael Jodar.
American youngster Quinn, who can focus on singles after his early doubles exit, recently beat Hubert Hurkacz and Tallon Griekspoor at the Australian Open before losing to Jakub Mensik.
Fritz then potentially faces a very difficult task in the quarterfinals, where he could meet Gabriel Diallo, Corentin Moutet or Tommy Paul.
His fellow Americans Learner Tien and Frances Tiafoe then represent potential semifinal opponents at Delray Beach, all of whom represent a real threat.
And should he make it that far, top seed Fritz may meet Casper Ruud, Flavio Cobolli or Marin Cilic in the final, which again won’t be easy.
Who is the best ATP player never to win a Grand Slam title?
Is it Alexander Zverev, Marcelo Rios, Tomas Berdych, David Ferrer or maybe even someone else?
How has Taylor Fritz performed entering the Delray Beach Open?
There is, of course, another issue that the American will likely have to deal with this week, with Fritz having played through injury in Dallas.
But he clearly feels that playing in Delray Beach is the correct move right now, as he continues his search for a first title of 2026.
And despite his potentially difficult draw, history strongly suggests that Fritz has a great chance of securing the title.

He lifted the trophy at Delray Beach in both 2023 and 2024, falling short of a third successive title last year when he fell in the quarterfinals.
Alejandro Davidovich Fokina beat the two-time defending champion in 2025, following his final wins over Miomir Kecmanovic and Paul.
Heading into the tournament, Fritz has eight wins and five losses in 2026 so far, and has just fallen one spot in the ATP rankings to eighth.
