Jannik Sinner is out to continue his phenomenal run at the Italian Open, where he is the top seed.
Sinner is chasing a sixth successive ATP Masters 1000 title, having just continued his remarkable streak in Madrid.
The Italian, who recently returned to world number one, has now claimed the titles in Madrid, Monte Carlo, Indian Wells and Miami this season.
They follow his title in Paris in 2025, with Sinner clearly the player to beat on the ATP Tour right now.
But very worrying for his rivals, the four-time Grand Slam champion has been making huge strides in a key aspect of the game.

Jannik Sinner’s improved serve should worry his ATP rivals
Sinner has constantly proven that he is eager to try new things on the court in an effort to improve his game, to the point where it could even cost him matches.
And one area where that is already massively paying off is his serve, which came under fire at last year’s US Open.
Sinner’s serve was heavily criticized after he lost the final to Carlos Alcaraz, which he finished with a first serve figure of just 48%.
He has since tweaked his rhythm and the toss, with the Italian currently leading the entire ATP Tour serve rating leaderboard with his figure of 300.4
While there is still plenty of room for his first serve figure of 63.4% – for which he is ranked 39th – to improve, he ranks at the very top with his first serve points won figure of 79.8%.
That is the exact same for his second serve points won figure of 58.9%, along with his huge service games won tally of 92.5%.
He also really impresses with his average aces per match total of 7.1, and his average double faults per match total of just 1.3.

Sinner now has the chance to improve upon those figures at the Italian Open, where he does, of course, have home advantage.
The Italian fans are set to turn up in huge numbers to support their hero, who starts out in round two after a first round bye.
His focus will quickly turn to Roland Garros after the event, at which a former coach of Serena Williams believes he is the overwhelming favorite.
Rick Macci posted on X in his unique voice: “Beating Sinner at the French Open IMPOSSIBLE unless he gets injured or sick.
“3 out of 5 and he mentally gets you in a vice and you cannot think twice. His patterns and milliseconds on the red dirt makes more shots squirt and gives him more time to hit on a dime.
“On clay opponents do not get free lunches in bunches on serve and they feel even more nerve. The Flamethrower will be the last man standing in France and enjoying another Grand Slam dance.”
A French Open title for Sinner would complete the set for the Italian, who has won the Australian Open twice, and Wimbledon and the US Open once.
