Brad Gilbert is now out of a job after his coaching partnership with Coco Gauff came to an end.
The pair had been working together for just over a year, but Gauff and Gilbert have now gone their separate ways after a disappointing set of results over the summer.
“Thanks to @CocoGauff and the entire team for an absolutely amazing summer run in 2023 and for 14 months of incredible team effort,” Gilbert tweeted.
“Coco, at just 20 years young, your future is incredibly bright, and I wish you nothing but continued success ahead. I’m excited for the next chapter in my coaching career.”
In response, Gauff posted a picture of the pair and wrote: “Thank you @bgtennisnation! We had an incredible run and I wish you all the best in the future!”
With Gauff looking for a new coach, it remains to be seen who Brad Gilbert will coach next and The Tennis Gazette will look at some players who could benefit from his expertise.

Which players could have Brad Gilbert as their next coach?
Stefanos Tsitsipas
Like Gauff, Stefanos Tsitsipas has had a disappointing 2024 season. He has captured just one title, failed to go beyond the quarter-finals at any of the Grand Slams and fell outside the top 10 for the first time since 2019.
In August, Tsitsipas announced that his father Apostolos will no longer be coaching him. The 26-year-old began working with Greek Davis Cup captain Dimitris Hadjinikolaou, but Gilbert could be a more long-term solution.
The Greek player’s game seems to have regressed in recent months and Gilbert can provide a fresh set of ideas and help Tsitsipas approach the game in a different way.
Tsitsipas is still searching for his first Grand Slam title and Gilbert, who helped Gauff win her first major, can do the same with the World number 12.

Elena Rybakina
Elena Rybakina has had her 2024 season interrupted due to injuries and health issues.
Since the Madrid Open in May, she has pulled out of or withdrawn from four tournaments and she has played just two matches since reaching the Wimbledon semi-finals.
Rybakina has since ended her partnership with Stefano Vukov after five years and Gilbert could be the perfect fit for her.
The American has the ability to harness and refine Rybakina’s explosive game to enable her to consistently compete against the game’s two best players, Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka.
He would offer a different dynamic and personality to Vukov and as he showed with Gauff, can impact a player’s game within a short space of time.

Holger Rune
Holger Rune needs a coach for the long term and Gilbert can fit into that role.
After splitting with Patrick Mouratoglou in August 2023, the Dane has been coached by Boris Becker, Severin Luthi. Rune then had another stint with Mouratoglou before they split again in July.
He has since joined up with Kenneth Carlsen, but also having the experienced Gilbert in his corner would be of great benefit to the 21-year-old.
The American can help the World number 14 get back on track after falling out of the top 10 and not currently being a top contender for a Grand Slam title.
Rune was tipped to be one of the players to lead the next generation with Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner but he has fallen behind. Gilbert could take him to that next level.

Alycia Parks
With her thunderous serve and heavy groundstrokes, Alycia Parks has the tools to be a huge threat on the WTA Tour on a consistent basis.
But the 23-year-old has not been able to become a main player on the circuit as yet and is struggling to come through qualifying events.
When she has started matches in the main draw on the WTA Tour, Parks has struggled to get past the first round this season and a new voice and change of approach is just what she needs.
Parks began the year by reaching the third round of the Australian Open and won a WTA 125K event in Gaiba before Wimbledon.
But she will not be happy with her 20 defeats this year and the coaching prowess of Gilbert can help to turn her fortunes around.
