WTA US Open 2025: Who is playing, how to watch and what is the prize money

The US Open is a prestigious WTA Grand Slam event, bringing the world’s best women’s tennis stars to the outdoor hard courts of the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York.

Last year, Aryna Sabalenka triumphed at the US Open, claiming her first title at this event.

Among those expected in action this year are two-time Grand Slam champion Coco Gauff, six-time Grand Slam winner Iga Swiatek, and defending champion Aryna Sabalenka.

When is the US Open?

The 2025 US Open is scheduled to run from Sunday, August 24, to Sunday, September 7. The main draw will be a 15-day event for the first time in tournament history, with the main draw beginning on a Sunday.

Which WTA tennis stars are playing?

The 2025 US Open women’s singles draw is stacked with star power and will feature a battle for the title among the world’s best.

Defending champion Aryna Sabalenka returns as the top seed, aiming to secure her second consecutive US Open title and fourth Grand Slam overall. She has been a dominant force on hard courts and will be a tough opponent to beat.

What is the schedule for the US Open?

The US Open main draw runs from August 24 to September 7. The tournament begins with the first round of singles matches on August 24 and continues with subsequent rounds throughout the two weeks.

The women’s singles final is on Saturday, September 6, and the men’s singles final is on Sunday, September 7. The mixed doubles competition, which has a new format, will be held on August 19-20 during Fan Week.
