Sinner certainly deserves a break after his efforts on the court in 2024, but he will be well aware of the challenge that now lies ahead, while there is also a potential ban coming his way regarding his ongoing doping case.

But the Italian has put a target on his back with his success, with the likes of Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic certain to want to get back to the summit as soon as possible.

But Sinner will be hard to topple, with the 23-year-old perhaps only really getting going, with more Grand Slam titles undoubtedly now the target.

Perhaps triumphing on other surfaces will also be on his agenda, with the Italian losing in the French Open semi-finals and Wimbledon quarter-finals in 2024.

He and Garcia certainly weren’t the only players enjoying their rest ahead of 2025, with Aryna Sabalenka, Paula Badosa, Grigor Dimitrov and Elena Rybakina all in Abu Dhabi for the race.
