A long list of WTA Tour stars continue their 2025 Australian Open preparations this week as they take on the Adelaide International.

The United Cup and ASB Classic have also been helping WTA players get into shape ahead of the first Grand Slam of the 2025 season.

Naomi Osaka reached her first final right before the Australian Open, although her delight was short-lived as she retired hurt during her ASB Classic meeting with Clara Tauson.

Osaka won the Australian Open in 2019 and 2021, but there is now a new dominant force in the form of Aryna Sabalenka.

She has won the last two finals in Melbourne, although Tim Henman thinks Qinwen Zheng will win the Australian Open, having finished as runner-up last time out.

World number four Jasmine Paolini meanwhile was set to take part, but the Italian has withdrawn after playing in the United Cup.

Italy won their meetings with Switzerland and France but later fell to the Czech Republic in the quarter-finals.

Despite her Adelaide International withdrawal, a long list of talented players join Pegula and Navarro at the WTA 500 event.
