Jack Draper has enjoyed a phenomenal breakout year, making huge strides on the ATP Tour.
The young Brit secured his first ATP title in Stuttgart, marking the first peak of a season filled with impressive achievements.
Mere days later, he defeated Carlos Alcaraz at Queen’s – the only defeat the Spaniard suffered between his French Open and Wimbledon titles.
Jack Draper later reached his first Grand Slam semi-final at the US Open without dropping a set.
He followed that with a title win in Vienna to break into the top 15 for the first time – a fitting milestone in a season of breakthroughs.

Jack Draper’s ‘lightbulb moment’ of the 2024 ATP season
Draper faced a tough run of defeats during the spring – defeats that tested his resilience and mental fortitude.
In consecutive events – Miami, Monte Carlo, and Munich – Draper narrowly lost in final-set tiebreaks to Nicolas Jarry, Hubert Hurkacz, and Taylor Fritz.
Those agonizing defeats forced Draper and his team to reflect deeply on his game and competitive mindset.
Indeed, his coach James Trotman suggested these three defeats ended up being a total blessing in disguise.
“Those three losses were defining,” Trotman told the Mail. “I sensed a shift in his desire and belief and the level he sees himself being able to play the sport.
“Having those matches back-to-back was the best thing that happened to him. If those matches are spread out over 12 months, it doesn’t have the same impact.
“It was that lightbulb moment for Jack to say, ‘OK, that’s enough. I’m OK to lose to these guys but I’m going to lose playing on my terms’,” Trotman explained.

Jack Draper is targeting the ATP top 10
Draper will have his sights set on breaking into the top 10 – an ambitious but achievable goal as he continues his upwards trajectory.
While players like Jannik Sinner and Alcaraz have surged to stardom early, Draper, still only 22, is carving his own path, steadily refining his game and gaining valuable experience.
Of areas that need improvement, physical resilience remains a key focus for the Brit, as injuries and fatigue have occasionally hindered his progress over the past season.
Now heading into the Australian Open with a strong seeding, Draper will aim for a deep run, particularly since he’s only ever reached the second round of the tournament.
With significant ranking points up for grabs in Melbourne, Draper looks poised to take another big step up.
