Jannik Sinner’s 2025 campaign recently took a sharp turn, as his doping case reached a resolution.
It was recently announced that Sinner will serve a three-month suspension from tennis after testing positive for the banned substance Clostebol in 2024.
The world number one had already enjoyed success in 2025, as Sinner won the Australian Open in January, beating Alexander Zverev in the final, 6-3, 7-6, 6-3.

He will now miss four Masters 1000 tournaments as a result of the ban: Indian Wells, Miami Open, Monte Carlo Masters, and Madrid Open.
Sinner will be cleared to return for his home Italian Open in May as he looks to announce his ATP Tour comeback with a big win.
Following the news of the ban, fans questioned whether Sinner was allowed to continue training while serving his suspension, confusion that has now been cleared up.
Jannik Sinner can only train at private venues until April 13
For the next two months, Sinner is banned from training at official tennis venues, however, as Tennis Italiano reports, the ITIA [International Tennis Integrity Agency] has explained how the Italian can keep in shape while serving his suspension.
“[Sinner] can train with his own support staff, as long as he does not do so in a place connected to a national association, the ATP, the ITF, the WTA, the Grand Slams or an event covered by our regulations,” they said.

His ban on ‘official’ training runs until April 13, three weeks before his suspension ends.
He’ll then have the opportunity to train at venues associated with the ATP Tour and Italian Tennis Federation as he ramps up preparations ahead of his comeback in Rome.
In the meantime, Sinner and his team shouldn’t find it too hard to find private venues to train at, as tennis courts around the world would no doubt love to host the world number one regardless of the circumstances.
Jannik Sinner withdraws from exhibition event in Las Vegas
Despite being banned from official competition, Sinner was still scheduled to play in Las Vegas at the MGM Rewards Slam.
However, he has now withdrawn from the event, and will be replaced by top-five ATP star Casper Ruud, who announced the news on X.
“I’m excited to announce that I’ll be at The MGM Rewards Slam at Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas,” he said.
“Join me and many more on March 2nd.”
Ruud will be joined by several other top ATP and WTA stars at the MGM Rewards Slam next month.
- Alexander Zverev (ATP #2)
- Taylor Fritz (ATP #4)
- Casper Ruud (ATP #5)
- Tommy Paul (ATP #9)
- Aryna Sabalenka (WTA #1)
- Naomi Osaka (WTA #54)
Grand Slam champions Aryna Sabalenka and Naomi Osaka will face off on the women’s side on the 1st, before Ruud, Alexander Zverev, Taylor Fritz, and Tommy Paul battle it out on the 2nd.
Jannik Sinner’s ATP Tour unbeaten streak
When Sinner likely returns to action in Rome, three months from now, he will do so having not lost a match since last October.
Sinner lost to Carlos Alcaraz in the China Open final, 7-6, 4-6, 6-7, 142 days ago before embarking on an impressive winning run.
