Jack Draper has received a generous amount of prize money and ranking points after winning the biggest title of his career at Indian Wells.

Draper beat Holger Rune in straight sets to win the Indian Wells title, having beaten two top five players in Taylor Fritz and Carlos Alcaraz to even get to that point.

As a result, Draper is now at a career-high ranking of world number seven and is third in the race to the ATP Finals.

Not only has British number one Draper seen benefits on the court, but he has also received a significant amount of prize money for his win in the Californian desert.

Jonathan Overend says what Jack Draper will do with his Indian Wells prize money

After winning the tournament in Indian Wells, Draper has added a significant $1,201,125 to his career prize money earnings that now total at $6,655,089.

When asked about what this would mean for Draper’s career, tennis journalist and commentator Jonathan Overend was adamant that the 23-year-old would use this money wisely.

“One thing’s for sure, let’s just talk about the money for a moment. He will reinvest that back in his career, like any good business woman or man, he will reinvest in what sells and what sells his tennis,” Overend told Sky Sports.

“So, whether that’s extra fitness trainers, extra camps in the off-season, whatever it may be, he will absolutely invest in his career to drain every last inch of potential out of him, he is that sort of hard worker.

“I’m sure he’ll enjoy himself along the way, he deserves to do that he’s a Masters 1000 champion and that’s a rare achievement. But, I think absolutely he will build on this and we will only see a stronger, fitter, better Jack Draper moving forward.”

Could Jack Draper win Wimbledon?

There is big conversation about what Draper could go onto achieve in his career from this point, with Grand Slam titles the next potential step for him.

With that in mind, Overend was asked about whether Draper could be a potential contender for the Wimbledon title.

Draper beat Alcaraz at Queen’s last year, and also won his first grass court ATP title in Stuttgart.

With that in mind, Overend suggested that Wimbledon glory could very much be in Draper’s near future.

“Do you know what, I absolutely think he can win Wimbledon, and I don’t think we should be scared of saying that,” said Overend. “I actually said at the start of the year that I actually thought that a British player would make the Wimbledon final this year, absolutely no logic behind that other than waking up in the middle of the night and having a sort of premonition.

“And Draper is the leading contender out of the likes of [Katie] Boulter and [Emma] Raducanu, who could do it, but Draper absolutely in this sort of form, no-one would want to draw him.

“Now he’s into the world’s top eight, that means that he only plays those players ahead of him at the quarter-final stage at the earliest, so that’s a really little significant landmark in the rankings, once you’re inside the top eight that’s a big bonus at the Grand Slams.

“And it’s on grass, it’s in his backyard, it’s a couple of miles from his home. It’s absolutely perfectly set up, I’m not saying it’s going to happen, but he is a live contender absolutely for Wimbledon 2025.”

Although Draper has shown that he has some pedigree on grass in recent years, he has struggled to impress at Wimbledon.

The new world number seven has only won two of his five matches at the grass court major, highlighted by Draper’s defeat to Cameron Norrie at Wimbledon last year.

However, Draper has already had a taste of a Wimbledon final after reaching latter stages of the 2018 junior event where he lost to Chun-hsin Tseng.

YearDraper’s Wimbledon Result
2021First Round – Novak Djokovic (1) beat Draper, 4-6 6-1 6-2 6-2
2022Second Round – Alex de Minaur (19) beat Draper, 5-7 7-6(0) 6-2 6-3
2024Second Round – Cameron Norrie beat Draper (28), 7-6(3) 6-4 7-6(6)

Before Draper can even think about the grass court season he will switch his focus to the Miami Open, where he will bid to become only the eighth man in history to complete the sunshine double.
