Carlos Alcaraz had lots of eyes watching his every move during his final against Jannik Sinner at the ATP Finals in Turin.

Alcaraz had already secured the year-end number one ranking, but he still had one more task at hand to win the ATP Finals for the first time.

However, standing in his way was his biggest rival Sinner, who proved to be too much for Alcaraz after beating him in straight sets.

Alcaraz and Sinner have played many times in finals this year, but the Spaniard was spotted doing something different in Turin.

Laura Robson reveals what she noticed Carlos Alcaraz doing to Jannik Sinner’s team

Sinner beat Alcaraz, 7-6(4) 7-5, in a match that was watched closely by former British number one Laura Robson.

Robson was reporting for Sky Sports, and revealed after the match that she regularly spotted Alcaraz smiling at some of the shot making both he and Sinner were producing at times.

“There was still mutual admiration during that match,” said Robson. “I could see Carlos smiling at Jannik’s player box in admiration at some of the ridiculous shots he was hitting and vice versa, where Sinner could not help but give a nod of approval to some of the winners that flew past him.

“This is what we get so excited about, that they bring out the best in each other. They know they have to push each other and improve constantly to outdo each other.

“There are so few players that look like they enjoy the toughest moments and the really tight scorelines, but you felt like they played their best when they were under pressure today.

“You thought for sure it was going to go to three, because Alcaraz was holding serve so comfortably and never looked bothered off his first serve, but all of a sudden we saw Sinner go for more and go for lines and go for broke because that’s his only option against this one particular opponent. But our expectations were high and it lived up to it.”
