Victoria Mboko is gearing up for her first appearance at the US Open.
The teenager will enter the tournament in scintillating form after she claimed the Canadian Open title.
Mboko beat Naomi Osaka in three sets to triumph in Montreal and win the first WTA title of her career.
As a result Mboko will be seeded at the US Open and she will be a huge threat to any player she encounters at Flushing Meadows.

Mboko defeated four Grand Slam champions on the way to winning the title in front of her home fans in Canada. She has now ascended to number 24 in the WTA rankings, after starting 2025 ranked outside the top 300.
The only concern for Mboko was a wrist injury she suffered in the semifinals against Elena Rybakina in Montreal.
Many wondered how it would impact her heading into the US Open, but Mboko provided a positive update on her injury during an appearance on Andy Roddick’s ‘Served’ podcast.
“We wanted to go to scan it, just to see if anything was horrible. Thankfully it was just some inflammation and it was really swollen but I think I was confident,” Mboko explained.
“I really wanted to play the final, so I really had to push it through with a lot of anti-inflammatory pain killers I was able to play. I wrapped up my wrist pretty right for the final.
“At some moments in the match it was bugging me a little bit and it was pretty tough to serve as well but I think I wanted it so badly that I was able to play through the pain and with the adrenaline going on I did not feel much at the end of the day.
“But even after the tournament it wasn’t doing so great, but I have been doing a lot of rehab and I have been taking quite good care of it, so it was a given that I was not able to play Cincinnati or Cleveland.
“So I just stayed home, did a lot of treatment and a lot of rehab prevention and we are just doing as much as I possibly can to be ready for the US Open. But it’s doing a lot better now.”

While the US Open draw has yet to be released, the women’s seedings have now been announced.
Aryna Sabalenka leads the field as the top seed, followed by Cincinnati Open champion Iga Swiatek as number two, and Coco Gauff at number three.
Mboko’s heroics at the Canadian Open earned her the number 24 seed, one ahead of former world number one, Osaka.
Mboko has an opportunity to become one of the youngest Grand Slam winners of all time at the US Open, and she will play in New York with no fear and plenty of crowd support.
