With Wimbledon done, the US Open 2025 is next with top players like Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka to feature, learn how to get tickets and what is the new Mixed Doubles Championship?

With the US Open fast approaching, it promises two weeks of exciting action at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, New York.

One big change this year is the new format which is being played before the main draw, and Novak Djokovic has shared his thoughts on the new Mixed Doubles Championship.

This new format aims to attract top singles players with a streamlined 16-team draw, “no-ad” scoring, shorter sets, and a lucrative $1 million prize for the winners.

How to buy 2025 U.S. Open tennis tickets

The prices of U.S. Open tickets vary widely depending on the day and type of ticket. Day Session tickets usually start at somewhere between $200-$400, while primetime evening sessions range from $89-$600 as get-in prices.

A Grounds Pass for Day 1 starts at $265 while a seat for the men’s final begins at $420, and can cost up to $20,000.

There are four main types of tickets to the U.S. Open:

U.S. Open Day Session

A Day Session ticket grants entry to Arthur Ashe or Louis Armstrong Stadium during the day (starting 11 a.m. ET), plus all other grounds courts. These sessions usually feature top players like Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, Aryna Sabalenka, and Iga Swiatek.

U.S. Open Evening Session

Similar to the Day Session, Evening Session tickets provide access to Arthur Ashe or Louis Armstrong Stadium for top matchups, generally beginning at 7 p.m. ET. The US Open usually schedules their big games under the evening lights, with stars like Novak Djokovic alongside American favourites such as Coco Gauff and Taylor Fritz.

Grandstand

For the first week’s early rounds, a separate Grandstand ticket is needed for the third-largest court. While generally more affordable than Ashe or Armstrong tickets, they still deliver a great atmosphere for watching top players. This option is ideal for experiencing high-quality tennis in a slightly more intimate setting.

U.S. Open Grounds Admission Pass

This pass grants entry to the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Centre complex, allowing open seating on all non-stadium courts. During the initial rounds, you can watch matches across dozens of courts. However, these tickets do not permit entry into Arthur Ashe or Louis Armstrong Stadium.

Who won the US Open last year and who can we expect to see this year?

Last year’s 2024 US Open saw Jannik Sinner win the men’s singles title, beating Taylor Fritz in a close final. At this year’s tournament, there is another Italian player who could be a major threat at the US Open to Jannik Sinner.

In the women’s singles, Aryna Sabalenka emerged victorious, defeating Jessica Pegula.

Looking ahead to the 2025 US Open, both champions are strong contenders. Jannik Sinner is a top favourite for the men’s crown. Despite this, there are five genuine US Open contenders who could snap Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz’s dominance.

There is also fierce competition expected from Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic. Keep an eye on Daniil Medvedev and Jack Draper as well.

On the women’s side, Aryna Sabalenka aims to defend her title, but Iga Swiatek and 2023 champion Coco Gauff are formidable challengers.

Elena Rybakina and rising star Mirra Andreeva could also make deep runs. This year’s tournament promises intense battles across both draws.
