It’s been quite the start to 2025 for Great Britain star Emma Raducanu as she looks to re-establish herself in the world of professional tennis.
Raducanu shocked the world in 2021 when she won the US Open despite coming through qualifying having never played in the tournament before.
Raducanu has confirmed her next tournament after reaching the quarter-finals of the Miami Open in a tournament that will give her no end of confidence.
Tim Henman has noticed an improvement in Raducanu this year and it’s been a pretty successful start to the season for the Great British player.
Raducanu has been critiqued for chopping and changing coaches during her career and Henman has now given the player some advice after the Miami Open.

Tim Henman picks the ‘important’ thing Raducanu should do now
It’s all about consistency for Raducanu at this stage, with playing games and gaining fitness the paramount things to achieve.
Reaching the last eight was a big thing for Raducanu and she will be committed to improving as the year progresses.
Henman has shared what it’s so important for Raducanu to do for the rest of this year – and it’s nothing to do with coaches.
He told Sky Sports Tennis: “Yes, Petch (Mark Petchey) is working for the Tennis Channel and has a commitment through there and it will be interesting to see what Emma’s next move is.
“I think when she talks about having fun and being authentic, that gives her the opportunity of expressing herself on the court but also, that being said, she does things differently. She’s very comfortable, she’s changed coaches, that’s not what everyone else likes to do but she’s comfortable changing that up.
“For me, as it’s been touched upon, building physical resilience, I think, is the most important thing, that’s what’s been lacking because she’s almost had her career back to front, qualifying and winning that slam without really having the foundation physically where her body was breaking down in competitions.
“I think the big positive this year is that she’s been able to compete more consistently and hopefully, the results are going to come.”
Emma Raducanu continues to climb the world rankings
Based on his previous work with Andy Murray, Petchey would likely be a very useful coach for Raducanu at the moment.
However, Henman is perhaps right when he mentions the physical side of things that Raducanu simply needs to work on in order to get back to where she wants to be.
After beating Emma Navarro in Miami, Raducanu will take confidence that she can mix it with the top players and doing it consistently is going to be the challenge.
Raducanu is improving all of the time, and with her latest ranking improving to number 48 in the world, there is real hope that this can be a very successful season for Raducanu.
