Tim Henman predicted where Emma Raducanu will be ranked in the near future.

The 21-year-old is gradually trying to rediscover her best form after returning to the tour at the start of 2024 following wrist and ankle surgery.

After reaching the Stuttgart Open quarter-finals in April, the former British number one’s results gradually started to improve over the summer.

A semi-final appearance in Nottingham for Raducanu preceded a quarter-final showing in Eastbourne. Following these results, Raducanu made the last 16 at Wimbledon before returning to the hard courts at Washington’s Citi Open where she reached the quarter-finals.

What does Tim Henman expect to happen to Emma Raducanu’s ranking?

Emma Raducanu will aim to maintain and then build on her steady results over the last two months.

Should she do so, her ranking will gradually increase and she will be able to enter the Grand Slams without receiving a wildcard or having to go through the qualifying rounds.

Tim Henman thinks Raducanu’s ranking will only continue to increase and called for the amount of scrutiny around the player to stop.

“There is almost a borderline obsession about different elements of her game and where she is going wrong,” he told Tennis 365.

“She hasn’t played in Canada and Cincinnati over the last few weeks… big deal! It’s two tournaments out of 52 weeks, she has played plenty of tournaments this year and she is top 50 in the WTA Race for this year.

“She is continuing to build and get fitter, stronger and faster. Her game is fantastic. She will be in the top 20 or top 30 before long, so we need to stop this level of scrutiny.”

What is Emma Raducanu’s current ranking?

Raducanu is currently ranked number 71 in the world with 907 points.

This is the Bromley local’s highest ranking since returning to action at the start of the 2024 season.

Raducanu could make significant progress up the rankings if she were to have a strong US Open campaign.

After coming through qualifying to triumph in New York without dropping a set in 2021, Raducanu shot up the rankings and went on to reach a career-high ranking of 10.
