Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz shared the Grand Slams in 2024, and it would take a brave person to bet against either enjoying similar success in 2025.
Sinner or Alcaraz could win the calendar Grand Slam next season, a feat achieved by only five players in the history of men’s and women’s tennis.
But with Novak Djokovic prioritising Grand Slams in 2025, the young duo could find it hard to enjoy similar dominance to last time out.
Sinner started and ended the year with major titles at the Australian Open and US Open, with Alcaraz triumphing in between at the French Open and Wimbledon.
The former won his first two Grand Slam titles with his successes, with the latter already on four despite being just 21.

Both will have big plans to extend their tallies next year, with both having been working hard behind the scenes in pre-season.
And Alex Corretja is foreseeing a similar outcome in 2025, having been tasked by Eurosport to predict who will win more Grand Slams between the pair.
“I think they might tie it this year,” said Corretja, with Tim Henman predicting: “I think Alcaraz is going to win more Slams in 2025 than Sinner.”

Laura Robson meanwhile agreed with her fellow former British number one, saying: “For 2025, I’m going Alcaraz.”
But Mats Wilander went the other direction, noting: “Jannik Sinner will win more Grand Slams than Carlos Alcaraz. A minimum of two Slams from Mr. Sinner.”
Djokovic will be eager to be the man to stop their dominance, but ATP Tour number two Alexander Zverev is also on that list.

The German has yet to win a Grand Slam, having lost two finals, with 2025 perhaps his final year at really being able to clinch a major trophy.
The likes of Daniil Medvedev and Taylor Fritz could also be close, having lost the 2024 Australian Open and US Open finals respectively, both to Sinner.
