Victoria Mboko is one of the game’s future tennis sensations and last night she shocked the world by beating French Open champion Coco Gauff.
The American world number two had no answer for Mboko, with her dominance being rewarded with a 6-1, 6-4 thrashing of the player who won at Roland Garros earlier this year.
Mboko is a quality prospect and at 18-years-old there is every chance that she can emulate Gauff and collect major titles of her own in the future.
Predictions have been made about Mboko, and after this win, she must now take the confidence into the rest of the year and try to make more waves in professional tennis.

Tennis fans stunned by Victoria Mboko situation on WTA website
Jon Wertheim is never backwards in coming forward, and he’s been at it again after Mboko defied the odds to come through against Gauff.
Mboko might be one of the game’s top talents, but she doesn’t have a profile on the WTA website, with a lot of gaps on the page that has been set up for her.
Wertheim posted on X: “Imagine you’re a casual fan, interested in learning more about this hyper-talented teenager on the cusp of a huge upset…and seeing this.”
Fans agreed with him and vented their frustration underneath his post, and they had a point to suggest that this simply won’t do.
Another fan said: “The WTA does an amazing job at FAILING to promote their players and tour. Player profiles are necessary!! Who is their current coach? What do they do off the court? Who are their idols? What’s their dream? What annoys them the most? These are the basics. Do better.”
Another annoyed fan said: “I mean this in the nicest way possible. The WTA site has always been absolutely trash.”
One fan has never been a fan of the website, saying: “Paying all that money for a website revamp only to make the agency richer, but product stays as poor as before…”
Finally, one fan said: “Wow. Speechless, embarrassing and beyond pathetic.”
Mboko looks destined for greatness
The talented youngster was just stunning against Gauff and the WTA do need to do better when it comes to her profile on their website.
Mboko was handed a way into Wimbledon through the back door and managed to win a match before going out to Hailey Baptiste in straight sets.
As the world number 85, Mboko will get tough draws at the Grand Slam events, but if she keeps playing as she did last night, then it won’t be long before she starts climbing the rankings.
The women’s game is in really good shape at the moment and with Mboko clearly boasting the game to beat the game’s top players it surely won’t be long before she gets among the titles on the tour.
