Carlos Alcaraz is undoubtedly one of the new superstars of tennis, across both the men’s and women’s game.
At just 21, the Spaniard already has three Grand Slam titles to his name, and has previously occupied the world number one spot.
Now sitting second in the ATP rankings behind Jannik Sinner, Alcaraz is chasing the complete Grand Slam set.
Titles at the US Open, Wimbledon and now the French Open have been secured, with the Australian Open the only major he is yet to win.
He is, however, already a master on all surfaces, having become the first man in the Open Era to win his first three Grand Slam titles on three different surfaces with his success in Paris.
How much will Carlos Alcaraz earn from his new Nike deal?
Silverware is undoubtedly a major motivation for the Spaniard, but prize money will also be key to his determination at such a young age.
Alcaraz has earned $4.52million (£3.55million) in prize money this year, and has now backed that up off the court with a new multi-million contract with Nike.
As reported by Relevo, the 21-year-old has extended his agreement with the company, and will earn between $15million (£11.77million) and $20milion (£15.7million) per year.
The new long-term agreement was signed by both parties just before the young star lifted the French Open trophy.
Part of the deal will involve Nike creating a unique logo for Alcaraz, just like they have done in the past with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.
Is Carlos Alcaraz heading for more success at Wimbledon?
While Alcaraz isn’t exactly at the very top of the pile at this exact moment in time in terms of the men’s game, he really is the man to beat.
The Spaniard was in scintillating form in the French capital, having defeated new world number one Sinner on his way to the final.
The Italian has also been playing superb tennis lately, and it looks very likely that the duo will play out an intense rivalry in the years to come.
At 22, Sinner is currently chasing his second Grand Slam title, but Wimbledon is up next, and Alcaraz heads into the grass competition as the defending champion.
Another major victory in London would already perhaps ensure Alcaraz’s status among the all-time greats, and given his form and recent history on grass, it really could be on the cards.
And he has now been given an added boost off the court with his new Nike deal, which could even have provided some inspiration for his Roland Garros win given that it was agreed upon before the success.
