Fans are eager to see Roger Federer and Carlos Alcaraz on court together again after their Shanghai Masters practice session.

The 20-time Grand Slam winner forged a great legacy in tennis and the Spaniard is now creating his own.

The pair have spent some time together since speaking at the 2024 Laver Cup and now they both did what they do best on the tennis court.

Roger Federer and Carlos Alcaraz were filmed together practicing at the Masters 1000 event in China and they enjoyed hitting some shots against one another.

What do fans want to see happen between Roger Federer and Carlos Alcaraz?

Federer and Alcaraz, who did play one another on the ATP Tour, gave fans a pleasant surprise when they took to the practice court at the Shanghai Masters.

The 21-year-old was competing in the tournament last week while Federer was in the city to compete in an exhibition match.

Therefore, they took some time to have some tallies together, and it was a sight to behold. “That was great!”, Federer said after taking a picture with Alcaraz following the session. The video was uploaded to the Shanghai Masters’ social media platforms and fans were calling for more.

YouTube user @igo2054 said: “The world needs at least one exhibition match between these two, ‘one set’ at least,” while @jessecdh wrote: “The fans got what they wanted!!! Next: can we please have an exhibition between these two?”

@karthikeyanparasuraman9337 wanted more as they said: “We demand a full video of this!! With one angle covering both of them!! This is a legendary practice!!! Don’t cut it short like this!!!!”, while @spacefreak3491 added: “Please make an exhibition match between these two!”

Is Carlos Alcaraz compared to Roger Federer?

Alcaraz has taken the tennis world by storm over the past two seasons and during that time he has claimed four Grand Slam titles.

Much has been made of Alcaraz’s playing style, which has been compared to the ‘Big 3’ of Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.

He has taken aspects of each of those players’ games and blended them into one, and Pat Cash is so impressed with the World number two that he went on to make a very bold claim.

“He hasn’t got a weakness. I almost think he is the best player I have ever seen on grass at his best,“ the Australian said on Sky Sports.

“Roger Federer as well. Let’s face it, he’s taken the best from Rafa, Federer and he has been able to adapt to that. Without these other great players we wouldn’t have that.

“He has taken the best of everything and somehow at the age of 21 he has put it all together. I have never seen anything like that.”
