Carlos Alcaraz has made such an impact on men’s tennis that prompted Pat Cash to make a very bold claim.
In the space of just two years, the 21-year-old has achieved more than what players accomplish in an entire career.
Since 2022, the Spaniard has claimed four Grand Slam titles, reached the World number one spot and claimed an Olympic silver medal.
He brings flair, passion and excitement to the game and his electric shotmaking has left plenty of fans in awe.
But Alcaraz has not only impressed fans but plenty of former players, such as Cash who compared the youngster to Roger Federer in a major way.
How does Pat Cash think Carlos Alcaraz may already be better than Roger Federer?
Carlos Alcaraz has certainly made a great impression on the ATP Tour in such a short space of time.
It can be argued that his biggest accomplishment so far is claiming successive Wimbledon titles, and defeating Novak Djokovic in the final on both occasions.
Alcaraz certainly surprised everyone with how quickly he adapted his game to succeed on grass, and he possesses a combination of lethal groudtrokes and deft touch around the net for the low bouncing surface.
Cash, who won the Wimbledon title in 1987, has been so impressed by what Alcaraz has produced on grass, that he put him alongside Federer, who many regard as tennis’ greatest grass court player.
“He hasn’t got a weakness. I almost think he is the best player I have ever seen on grass at his best,“ the Australian said on Sky Sports.
“Roger Federer as well. Let’s face it, he’s taken the best from Rafa, Federer and he has been able to adapt that. Without these other great players we wouldn’t have that.
“He has taken the best of everything and somehow at the age of 21 he has put it all together. I have never seen anything like that.”

Alcaraz’s playing style and mindset has seen him constantly compared to Federer, Djokovic and Paris Olympics double partner Rafael Nadal.
While covering the Six Kings Slam on Sky Sports, British tennis player Liam Broady outlined the ways in which has implemented aspects of Federer and Nadal’s games into his own.
“I understand what you are saying. He has the sheer power of Rafa, but he has the lightness to his game and that sort of aura that Fed had,” Broady said. “He’s like a ballet dancer but with that ability to shift like only Rafa could.
“He has the strength like Rafa had on a clay court to play way back in the court but he can also play up in the court the same way that Roger used to with the SABR.
“He is one of the few players in the sport who can take your breath away with some of the shots that he hits.”
