Tennis fans everywhere have all been discussing Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz in recent times, but for very different reasons.
The former suffered an early exit from the French Open at the hands of Alexander Zverev, in what was likely his Paris farewell.
The 38-year-old looks set to call time on his stunning career later this year, but it is the complete opposite for the latter, who is only just getting going.
Aged just 21, Alcaraz clinched his third Grand Slam title, avenging his compatriot by beating Zverev in the final, with Novak Djokovic and Casper Ruud among those congratulating him on the win.
Both Spanish stars will now be looking to make a splash at Wimbledon, with the grass major set to get underway at the beginning of July.
Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz confirmed for Olympics doubles
Up first, however, is the small matter of the Olympics, which sees many of the world’s top stars return to the clay.
Roland Garros will host the tournament, with Spain surely in with a great chance of success given their talented team.
Leading the way are Nadal and Alcaraz, who have been confirmed as a men’s doubles team in Paris, with the younger of the duo really excited to team up with his idol.
The former, who has shared his excitement about the announcement on X, will be looking to use all of his experience to guide the latter, with their chemistry potentially sending them all the way in the French capital.
