Paris will welcome some of the world’s greatest tennis players to its clay courts for the 2024 Olympics, so here is everything to know about it from how to watch to the rules.
It was only two months ago that the biggest and best stars from the ATP and WTA tours took to Rolland Garros looking to win the 2024 French Open. Now, international stakes are on the line as players fight to deliver Olympic gold medals for their countries for the 19th occasion.
Tennis made its debut at the summer Olympic Games back at Athens 1896 and it has been a permanent fixture since Los Angeles 1984. Germany’s Alexander Zverev won the men’s gold medal at the last Olympics at Tokyo 2020, as Switzerland’s Belinda Bencic won the women’s.

Croatia also won a tennis gold medal at the 2020 Olympics as Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic took home the men’s doubles crown. Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova, meanwhile, won the Czech Republic the women’s doubles gold medal on the hard courts at Tokyo 2020.
Poland’s Iga Swiatek and Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz will now hope to add their names to the gold medal Olympics winners list at Paris 2024 after sealing the single’s tiles at the French Open. Swiatek beat Italy’s Jasmine Paolini 6-2, 6-1 and Alcaraz beat Zverev 6-3, 2-6, 5-7, 6-1, 6-2.
Their success at the French Open will make Swiatek and Alcaraz among the favorites to win gold at Paris 2024. Alcaraz will also fancy his chances at tasting double’s delight as he forms a powerhouse pairing with Rafael Nadal, who skipped Wimbledon to focus on the Olympics.
British interest in the Olympics also comes through Andy Murray, who will retire from tennis after Paris 2024. The Scot has already delivered Great Britain two gold medals after topping the world back on the grass courts of London 2012 and later on the hard courts of Rio 2016.
So, with that in mind, The Tennis Gazette has taken a look into everything you need to know about tennis at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games as the top ATP and WTA players jet to France.
