Taylor Fritz has sent a little jibe towards Team Europe after losing the final match at the Laver Cup in Berlin.
The scriptwriters did the perfect job at the Laver Cup as Carlos Alcaraz completed a mesmerizing comeback for Team Europe.
A large ball of blue huddled together on court to celebrate while a downtrodden Taylor Fritz headed back to Team World.
While a tournament that is just a bit of harmless fun, the tensions were piled high with the pendulum swinging both ways throughout.
Having trailed 4-8 at the start of Sunday, Team Europe notched up three wins on the final days, despite Ben Shelton’s stellar win over racquet-hurling Daniil Medvedev.

Taylor Fritz claims Team World will always win in one department
The Laver Cup this year represented a change and the end of the first major chapter.
Only seven editions old, Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe have been captains since the start, but ahead of the 2024 event, decided their time was over.
Despite defeat in the Laver Cup, Fritz has remained convinced that there is something Team Europe will never be able to take from Team World.
“Every year, regardless [of the outcome], I think one thing that stays true is that…we’re having more fun at this event than the other team is,” Fritz told the Laver Cup, seemingly only defeated in one way.
With another vibrant American in Andre Agassi taking over Team World, this high-energy ‘fun’ may long continue.
Can the Laver Cup actually go anywhere?
It feels miserly to dub the event slightly naff, however it’s a feeling plenty of the tennis community are quietly experiencing.
It certainly looks jolly to be a part of – The matching tracksuits are fun, the points system is quirky – But does it actually appeal to tennis fans?
It increasingly feels like a real divider in tennis and with the two departing captains, one might suspect it’s about to slow down somewhat.
The 2023 edition saw Team Europe show up with a slightly random selection of players who were nearly all beaten, so much so, most of the matches on the final day didn’t have to be played.
A stronger unit showed up this year to see off Borg and McEnroe and indeed it was a much closer affair.
However with endless complaints about the relentless tennis calendar, you have to ask yourself – is the Laver Cup quickly going stale?
