Taylor Fritz has only just won his first ATP title of the 2025 season at the BOSS Open in Stuttgart.

Fritz beat Alexander Zverev to win the ATP 250 tournament in Stuttgart for the first time in his career.

This has enabled the American to return to world number four in the ATP rankings, bouncing back after Fritz lost in the first round of Roland Garros.

While this is a positive sign of where Fritz’s game is heading, he has now admitted that he has some limitations.

Taylor Fritz says what he wishes he could do on a tennis court right now that he is currently unable to

Before Fritz beat Zverev in the Stuttgart final, he spoke on WTA player Caroline Garcia’s Tennis Insider Podcast.

During this conversation, Fritz was asked about his game and what he thinks he does well, as well as what he thinks he could improve.

In his response, Fritz praised his mental resilience, but claimed that he was a bit limited in his shot selection and wished he had more variety in his game.

“Yeah, I think one of my best abilities on the court is my mind and thinking, and I think I think really well on the court,” said Fritz.

“I wish I could do…I wish I had more shots so I could do more things I’m somewhat limited and all the different strategies and stuff I can do, because I have to play, at least in some way play to my game.

“But yeah, I never want a coach to just tell me something, and I just blindly listen. I want to understand why they’re saying that and then maybe some situations, once we like talk it through, I still decide that I think my way of thinking is the right way to do it.”

Taylor Fritz’s potential draw at the Queen’s Club Championships

Fritz will not have much time to celebrate his Stuttgart victory, as he is playing in both singles and doubles, with Jiri Lehecka, at the Queen’s Club Championships.

The 27-year-old achieved his best result at Queen’s last year by reaching the quarter-finals, but will want to go even further as the third seed in 2025.

Fritz’s first round opponent at the ATP 500 tournament will be qualifier Corentin Moutet, in a first-time meeting between the pair.

If he is able to match his result at Queen’s from last year, Fritz could potentially play fifth seed Alex de Minaur or his doubles partner Lehecka.

Jack Draper is a potential semi-final opponent for Fritz, and he would only play Carlos Alcaraz if both players reach the final.
