Taylor Fritz has chosen the tennis player he thinks is the greatest of all time.

Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic are regarded by many as the three best players in the history of the game.

The trio hold numerous records in the sport and contested some of the greatest matches of all time against each other.

Players and fans alike continue to have their say on a debate that has been a significant talking point in tennis for several years and now Taylor Fritz has now weighed into the debate.

Does Taylor Fritz think Roger Federer is the greatest tennis player of all time over Novak Djokovic?

Djokovic’s name is the answer on more and more people’s lips when it comes to naming the greatest tennis player of all time following his 24 Grand Slam titles and winning the Olympic gold medal.

Fritz has had the opportunity to play against him on multiple occasions, and he named him as the greatest player in terms of statistical achievements.

But he still spoke about Federer when asked who he thinks is tennis’ greatest player, as he remembered the Swiss Maestro’s achievements and how he revolutionised the sport.

“In terms of achievement it’s Novak, it feels like Fed,” the US Open runner-up told the ATP’s YouTube channel before repeating: “But in terms of achievement it’s Novak.”

In the same video Fritz was asked to name the biggest trash talkers on the ATP Tour and he mentioned himself as well as compatriots Frances Tiafoe and Ben Shelton.

“In the locker room I feel like me, Ben and Frances love to give it to each other, it’s playful though you know,” the World number seven said.

Has Taylor Fritz played against Roger Federer?

Fritz competed against Federer on two occasions earlier in his career.

Their first meeting came on the grass at the Stuttgart Open in 2016, when Fritz was just 18 years of age.

Federer claimed the victory, but he was made to work for it. He was pushed to three sets but ultimately prevailed 6-4 5-7 6-4.

Their second and final meeting came at the 2019 Australian Open in the third round. This was a more straightforward meeting for the former World number one, as Federer won 6-2 7-5 6-2.
