Taylor Fritz rightfully remains upbeat after his US Open dreams were crushed by world number one Jannik Sinner.
Fritz noticed a big improvement from Sinner during their US Open final clash, which the Italian top seed won under the lights at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
Sinner defeated 12th seed Fritz 6-3, 6-4, 7-5 in New York to clinch his second career Grand Slam title, having won the Australian Open at the beginning of 2024.
But it was the furthest the American had ever gone at a Grand Slam, much to his delight and indeed those watching on in New York.
Fritz thinks he can reach another level after the run, during which he beat the likes of Alexander Zverev and Casper Ruud.

Taylor Fritz speaks out after US Open final loss to Jannik Sinner
The American overcame the fourth and eighth seeds respectively on his way to the final, along with compatriot Frances Tiafoe.
Fritz has now shared his thoughts on the tournament, writing on X: “These past two weeks have been insane, reaching my first US Open final was a huge moment for me and I’m motivated now more than ever to keep striving for more…
“Thank you for all the incredible love and support over the past two weeks, it made it all even more special.”
Can US Open finalist Taylor Fritz win a Grand Slam?
Fritz was in superb form throughout the US Open, with the American undoubtedly boosted by the support of the crowd.
But he certainly gave them plenty of reasons to cheer at Flushing Meadows, particularly in his five-set thriller with fellow US star Tiafoe.
The home fans were desperate to see either player go all the way, having last witnessed an American man win a Grand Slam all the way back in 2003.
Andy Roddick won the US Open all those years ago, with Fritz sadly unable to emulate his compatriot thanks to the dominance of Sinner.
But the beaten finalist did prove his worth in Queens, finally breaking his Grand Slam quarter-final curse, with a maiden major title now perhaps not too far away.
