Taylor Fritz will have to face Carlos Alcaraz once again at the ATP Finals in Turin this year.
Fritz has won two ATP titles this year and reached the semifinals of Wimbledon, enabling him to qualify for the ATP Finals for the third time in his career.
This is a tournament where he has found previous success, with Fritz reaching the final of the ATP Finals last year before losing to Jannik Sinner.
However, it will be a tough ask for him to achieve this again, with Fritz being handed a tough ATP Finals draw which includes being in a group with Alcaraz.

Taylor Fritz responds when asked how Carlos Alcaraz could be vulnerable against him
Fritz has been placed in the Jimmy Connors Group alongside Alcaraz, Alex de Minaur and Lorenzo Musetti, with the latter entering the event after Novak Djokovic withdrew from the ATP Finals.
When speaking ahead to Tennis Bolshoi of his final tournament of the season, Fritz was asked if he thinks six-time Grand Slam champion Alcaraz has any vulnerabilities which he can exploit when they play.
However, Fritz dismissed any suggestions of this and instead spoke about what Alcaraz prevents him from doing.
“He’s vulnerable, I don’t know what you mean. He’s really not,” answered Fritz. “In that match it’s really about trying to punch him as much as possible. He plays extremely aggressive, I feel like even more so when we are in the indoor season.
“He doesn’t want to give me a chance to attack, so there’s a lot of spots on the court I can’t really hit to. So, I have to serve really well, got to return well and I have to play aggressive and take my chances much more than normal.”
Taylor Fritz’s Head-to-Head vs Carlos Alcaraz
When Fritz plays Alcaraz in their round-robin match at this year’s ATP Finals, it will be the fourth time they have played this year, and their sixth overall meeting.
Fritz’s comments about Alcaraz match up with their head-to-head, which the Spaniard leads 4-1 after beating him in the final of the Japan Open last month.
The only match that went the American’s way saw Fritz beat Alcaraz at the Laver Cup earlier this year.
| Year | Tournament | Result |
| 2023 | Miami Open (QF) | Alcaraz beat Fritz, 6-4 6-2 |
| 2024 | Laver Cup | Alcaraz beat Fritz, 6-2 7-5 |
| 2025 | Wimbledon (SF) | Alcaraz beat Fritz, 6-4 5-7 6-3 7-6(6) |
| 2025 | Laver Cup | Fritz beat Alcaraz, 6-3 6-2 |
| 2025 | Japan Open (F) | Alcaraz beat Fritz, 6-4 6-4 |
Although Fritz has already spoken about Alcaraz, his first match will actually be against Musetti on Monday, November 10.
While Alcaraz will begin his bid for the ATP Finals title against world number seven De Minaur.
