American tennis star Taylor Fritz has been discussing what he’s changed this season with the grass court season now in full swing.
The USA performer takes on Milos Raonic later today in the last 16 at Queen’s.
Fritz is hoping to make some waves as a professional, with the 26-year-old yet to really get close to winning a Grand Slam title.
He will hope that changes in the coming years and Fritz does possess the talent to get over the line at some point.
Switching from clay to grass isn’t an easy transition for the players and Fritz has now been discussing a switch he’s made to his schedule this year.

Taylor Fritz shares the change he’s made ahead of Wimbledon
For many players, Wimbledon is the one Grand Slam that they look forward to all year round.
The London-based tournament is steeped in history and the traditions of SW19 aren’t lost on the players.
Fritz won’t be too fussed about which Grand Slam he wins and quite simply he would like to get over the line in one of the major events.
Ahead of his match against Raonic this afternoon, he’s been discussing what he’s changed going into the grass court season this time around.
Fritz told Tennis 365: “This is my first week on grass, the first year I’ve ever not played on grass prior to this week and I’ve not done a ton of practising.
“It’s about getting my timing. That’s such a big part of my game. Specifically for me, my backhand and my serve is what works for me on grass.
“It’s about feeling it out and getting used to it. I’ve literally never had a good result in the first two weeks of a grass season. All my good results come last two weeks.
“It’s about being here and trying to find it and figure things out and make sure I’m playing my best tennis for Wimbledon.”
Fritz will need to defy the odds to win Wimbledon this year
With the form of Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner so far this year, it feels unlikely that Fritz will be ready to get his hands on the Wimbledon trophy this year.
Novak Djokovic is also hoping to be fit and he will hope to claim the one Wimbledon prize needed to pull level with Roger Federer on eight titles.
That doesn’t mean to say that Fritz can’t win the title in the future, however.
He has proved he can win a tournament on grass, claiming titles in 2019 and 2022 at Eastbourne.
Clearly, that can’t be used in comparison to a tournament like Queen’s or Wimbledon but there is hope for the player.
His record at the Grand Slam events is pretty drab and he will have to seriously dig deep to win Wimbledon this year.
He’s never reached a major semi-final and given where his game is going into Wimbledon this year, he will need a bit of luck.
Fritz does have an opportunity to get into the groove by going deep at Queen’s this week and he will hope to prevail later today against Raonic.
Only time will tell whether or not Fritz tweaking his schedule will pay dividends in the capital later this month.
