Stefanos Tsitsipas is hoping to climb back up the rankings after a difficult start to the 2026 season.
Tsitsipas dropped outside the top 60 in the world for the first time since 2018 after suffering his worst ever result at the Monte Carlo Masters last week.
The two-time Grand Slam finalist has not reached the semifinal of any tournament since February last year, and Tsitsipas has struggled with a back injury over those past 12 months.
Tsitsipas has now provided an update on his physical status ahead of his next tournament in Munich, as he looks to climb back up the rankings.

Stefanos Tsitsipas states that he has ‘no pain’ anymore
Tsitsipas is making his debut at the BMW Open in Munich this year, having previously played at the Barcelona Open in six of the past eight years.
When speaking to Tennis TV ahead of the tournament in Munich, Tsitsipas declared that he is pain free and in the ‘perfect place’ to find form again.
“I am not frustrated anymore, because there is no pain to interrupt my training regime day to day,” said Tsitsipas.
“I wouldn’t say that there is something that bothers me right now, so I am actually at a perfect place to build on developing a better game to try and get myself back to where I belong.
“So far nothing has been bothering me, I am on a straight line trying to get things done and maybe get back on some winning streaks I am hoping.”

Stefanos Tsitsipas reveals what he is willing to do to improve his ranking
Tsitsipas could face another ranking drop this week, as he is defending the 100 points he earned from reaching the quarterfinals in Barcelona last year.
When asked about his current position in the rankings, Tsitsipas stated that he was willing to drop down to ATP 250 level tournaments if required.
“I am aware that I might need to play good players in earlier rounds at different tournaments this year,” said Tsitsipas. “It’s not an easy thing to get to play them early, but I also accept the challenge and I accept my current position and state, that these kind of things need to happen in order for me to get back to where I belong.
“If I have to play 250’s, if I have to play extra tournaments I will, because matches seem to help me get me back into the game. I’m a player that needs matches, I’m a player that needs to play a lot of sets in order to feel my game better and I think this is something that I might need to do in the next couple of weeks.
“I am expecting to play a lot of tournaments, I want to get a lot of tournaments under my belt, but of course be pretty careful where I choose my tournaments and when I get to play. So these type of things are also under my consideration.”
