Stefanos Tsitsipas will be looking to really kick start his 2025 season at the Qatar Open, where he takes on Hamad Medjedovic in the round of 32.

Medjedovic only just beat Daniil Medvedev in Marseille, but went on to lose the final to home favourite Ugo Humbert.

Tsitsipas helped Paula Badosa at the Australian Open last month, with his girlfriend having reached the semi-finals.

But the Spaniard fell to close friend and world number one Aryna Sabalenka, who then lost the final to Madison Keys.

Tsitsipas meanwhile suffered a shock first round exit, with the 11th seed losing to young American Alex Michelsen.

Stefanos Tsitsipas would hire Carlos Alcaraz as his coach

The Greek ace has since reached the quarter-finals of the Rotterdam Open, a tournament that was won by Carlos Alcaraz.

And he is a player that Tsitsipas clearly admires, with the world number 11 saying: “Carlos Alcaraz, I would hire him” when asked by Lina Shokh which current ATP player he would like to hire as his coach now or in the future.

The question came after the successful partnership between former rivals Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray was mentioned.

Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray enjoy fine Australian Open run

Djokovic and Murray were once fierce rivals on the court, but the duo have since teamed up following the Scot’s retirement.

And they certainly went into things at the deep end, with the latter coaching the former at the Australian Open.

And while the 10-time champion failed to add to his tally, he did enjoy a superb run in Melbourne, reaching the semi-finals.

Moreover, the veteran’s dream run was ended only by injury, which he has now seemingly shaken off in time for the Qatar Open.

And just like he did at the Australian Open, Djokovic is playing both singles and doubles, this time alongside Fernando Verdasco.

The Serbian previously lined up alongside another former rival in Nick Kyrgios at the Brisbane International, where they exited after two matches together.

After a poor string of results in recent times, Tsitsipas could certainly do with a man like Alcaraz on his team.
