Shanghai Masters predictions
The Tennis Gazette writers have predicted the winner of this week’s Shanghai Masters.
Matthew Johns: It was somewhat of a surprise to see Novak Djokovic even confirm his participation in the Shanghai Masters, and that has now made me believe that he will go on and win the whole thing. Djokovic will have a much better chance against Jannik Sinner over best-of-three sets, and he will also have the advantage of not having played the previous week.
Lee Clarke: Now, shoot me down here, but I’m going for Novak Djokovic to claim the title. Over three sets, his game is as good as ever, and after not playing since the US Open, he will be well rested and ready to cause a stir without Carlos Alcaraz in the field. The boring answer is obviously Sinner to win, but I think Djokovic could give him a good game over three sets.
Peter Lynch: While a handful of challengers could put him under pressure, defending champion Jannik Sinner looks like the man to beat in Shanghai.
