Sebastian Korda has stated the name of the player he does not enjoy playing tennis against.

The World number 23 has just finished a gruelling clay and grass court season and has headed back to the US to play on hard courts and prepare for the US Open.

The 24-year-old is one of the ATP’s brightest talents but he has yet to kick on and take his game to the next level.

While competing at Queen’s in June, Korda named the only player on the ATP Tour that he wishes to not see come up in the draw.

Korda appeared on the ATP Tour’s YouTube channel and was asked about the player he least enjoys facing on court that is currently ranked outside the top 20.

The American did not hesitate with an answer, as he mentioned Australia’s Jordan Thompson, though the pair have never played each other on tour.

The pair have played doubles together however, and ended their first week competing together by winning the Madrid Open in May.

They defeated Ariel Behar and Adam Pavlasek 6-3, 7-6(7) to win the clay court Masters 1000 title. “We practised a tonne, and this was our first tournament together,” Korda said post-match.

“It was a pretty good one, and [we will play] next week again in Rome. It was a lot of fun playing with Jordan this week and looking forward to next week.”

Where are Sebastian Korda and Jordan Thompson playing now?

Neither Jordan or Thompson are playing at the Paris Olympic Games. They are both playing on hard courts at different tournaments in the United States.

Thompson is competing in singles and doubles at the Atlanta Open, while Korda is in action at the Citi Open in Washington D.C.

Thompson has reached the semi-finals of the singles event and will play Shang Juncheng after he defeated Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in three sets.

Korda meanwhile, is teaming with Alex Michelsen in the nation’s capital and they will begin their campaign against Julian Cash and Robert Galloway on Tuesday.
