The Miami Open is quickly approaching the business stages with the likes of Novak Djokovic and Aryna Sabalenka both still gunning for glory in their respective competitions.
It’s one of the better Masters Series events on the calendar, and coming so quickly after Indian Wells, the showdown in Miami is always eagerly anticipated by the players.
There have been some big shocks at the tournament in both the men’s and the women’s draws so far, with Ben Shelton and Mirra Andreeva both crashing out early.
Emma Raducanu did something for the first time after reaching the quarter-final with a brilliant win over Amanda Anisimova, and it promises to be an exciting conclusion this week.

Sam Querrey and John Isner disagree on Miami Open winners
It’s getting towards the stage of the tournament where pundits and former players start to pick their winners for the men’s and women’s draws this weekend.
Querrey and Isner got their heads together on the Nothing Major podcast to pick who they thought would claim glory – and they couldn’t agree on the outcome.
Summing up in a couple of words, Isner plumped for Djokovic and Jessica Pegula, whilst Querrey thinks Zverev and Swiatek will emerge victorious in Miami.
It’s fascinating on the men’s side of things that both Djokovic – a serial title winner – and Zverev – the world number two – remain in contention to win the title on Sunday.
Women’s tennis is as competitive these days as it’s ever been, and both Pegula and Swiatek feel like strong picks from the guys on the podcast.
Djokovic can showcase mettle with Miami Open win
A lot has been written and said about Djokovic over the past few months as he goes in search of Grand Slam number 25 for his collection.
There should be no doubt that Djokovic can win another major crown this year but for some reason, some are still doubting whether he can in the modern era.
Djokovic hasn’t won anything since winning the gold medal at the Olympics back in August and some have started sharpening the knives after some poor results.
As a result, the Serb will surely be desperate to get back in the winner’s circle and with Carlos Alcaraz out and Jannik Sinner banned, this could represent the perfect chance to prove his worth all over again.
