Rennae Stubbs shared her honest thoughts on Frances Tiafoe after his exit from the Miami Open.
The 27-year-old took on French wonderkid Arthur Fils in the third round of the Masters 1000 event.
They contested a three-set epic which ended with the 20-year-old reaching the next round at the American’s expense.
Frances Tiafoe has struggled all season and has claimed just one victory at each tournament he has competed in, and Rennae Stubbs has her concerns.

Tiafoe took on FIls in what has been one of the most compelling and dramatic matches of the Miami Open so far.
In a 24-point first set tiebreak, Tiafoe was unable to capitalise on six set points before Fils took the set, before Tiafoe saved two match points in set two before levelling the match.
But Tiafoe could not make the most of his momentum as Fils dominated the decider to claim victory. Following this result, Stubbs analysed where Tiafoe is at this point in his career, and she thinks she may have hit his peak.
“I don’t know what is going on with Frances,” Stubbs said on her self-titled podcast. “He has sort of lost his mojo a little bit. It was a good three set match [against Fils]. But I don’t know. Maybe he has peaked.
“I think he peaked at the US Open a couple of years ago. He doesn’t have a lot of weapons and at some point you kind of plateau at a certain place.
“I think he has probably made enough money to be super comfortable for the rest of his life. Is that a determining factor in pushing him to the toughest of moments? Maybe.”
What are Frances Tiafoe’s results in 2025 so far?
Tiafoe has competed in six tournaments so far this season, and he has struggled at each of them.
The two-time US Open semi-finalist began his 2025 campaign at the Brisbane International, and claimed one win before losing to Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard.
Tiafoe played two five-set matches at the Australian Open, one of which was a win over Arthur Rinderknech, before Tiafoe was upset by Fábián Marozsán.
Defeats followed against Yoshihito Nishioka and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in Dallas and Mexico respectively, before Tiafoe headed back to American soil.
He usually plays some of his best tennis in the United States, but Tiafoe failed to progress beyond the third round at both Indian Wells and Miami.
Tiafoe has not won a title since 2023 and with the clay court season on the horizon, arguably his weakest surface, things will get tougher for him.
