Reilly Opelka is working hard on one of his shots as he continues to make a comeback from a long injury layoff.

The American was on the injury sidelines for eight months before he returned to the tour at the 2024 Hall of Fame Open in July.

While healthy and in top form, the 27-year-old was a dangerous player who was ranked inside the ATP’s top 20.

Reilly Opelka is gradually trying to return to his best form and there is one shot in particular that needs to be firing on all cylinders to help him achieve that.

Which shot is Reilly Opelka working on the most?

Throughout Opelka’s career he has been known for his thunderous serve which is one of the biggest in the game. It is a serious weapon that is the foundation on which the rest of his game is built.

As he tries to return to his bets level of play, the former World number 17 knows how important his serve is to achieving that and he is working very hard to get it back to its very best.

“My serve is the shot that had been taking me the longest to get back since my injury,” Opelka said via ATP.com. “I didn’t serve well at the US Open, but every week it’s been getting better. I’ve been starting to get the accuracy back.

“I think it’s going to continue to progress and get a little bit better and back to where it was, because you know I think it was one of the best.”
