Amanda Anisimova has just clinched her highest-level title to date, beating Jelena Ostapenko in the Qatar Open final.
Anisimova has emulated Serena Williams after lifting the trophy in Doha, which she did thanks to a 6-4, 6-3 win.
American ace Anisimova dropped just one set throughout her stunning run at the 2025 Qatar Open before a one-hour, 21-minute success over Ostapenko.
Ninth seed Paula Badosa and Leylah Fernandez were among her victims, while Ostapenko had knocked out Iga Swiatek and Jasmine Paolini.
But her fantastic venture was brought to an end by Anisimova, who now has a third career WTA singles title.

She took to social media to celebrate the success, writing on Instagram: “Wow, thank you Qatar Open for an incredible week here in Doha, my first WTA 1000 title means the world to me. What a journey the last few weeks have been.
“Thank you to everyone for all the support, it’s been amazing & to my team thank you for all you do for me, none of this would be possible without all of you.”
Plenty of her fellow professionals have been quick to congratulate Anisimova, with Badosa commenting: “Bravoooooo.”
Ons Jabeur meanwhile posted clapping and heart emojis, while Bianca Andreescu commented: “Wowwww yesss.”
The messages of support from WTA stars haven’t ended there, with Marta Kostyuk and Jodie Burrage also reacting with emojis.
Harriet Dart meanwhile wrote “Amazing,” with Anisimova’s compatriot Ashlyn Krueger commenting: “She is her.”

Anisimova’s other titles have come in Melbourne and Bogota in 2022 and 2019 respectively, with a rankings rise now incoming for the American.
Having once reached 21st in the world, she currently occupies 41st place, but a top 20 debut is now on the cards.

She is clearly a hugely popular player on the WTA Tour, with her compatriot Jessica Pegula and former professional Rennae Stubbs also reacting to the Doha champion.
Pegula joked “It’s the brunette hair” on her Instagram story, with Stubbs writing on her Instagram story: “Congrats Amanda!
“What a week! So proud of you kiddo. You’re the epitome of living your own life and truth! Always trust your gut!”
