Novak Djokovic has learned who he could play at the ATP Finals after the draw was confirmed for this year’s tournament.
Djokovic has left question marks over his ATP Finals participation, the same tournament which he withdrew from last year.
The 24-time Grand Slam champion is currently competing elsewhere, with Djokovic winning his first match in Athens.
Djokovic has declared that he will decide if he will play the ATP Finals later this week, and he has now been given a big incentive to do just that.

Novak Djokovic knows who he will play at the ATP Finals as the draw is announced
Djokovic could be eyeing one of Jimmy Connors’ records at this late stage in his career, and he has been drawn into the group named after the American tennis legend.
As the fourth seed, Djokovic has been placed in a group alongside Carlos Alcaraz, Taylor Fritz and Alex de Minaur.
The ATP Finals feature the eight top players from the year, but this group is likely to incentivise Djokovic to want to play in Turin this year.
Djokovic has a positive head-to-head against everyone in the group, including Alcaraz, and is particularly dominant against Fritz.
After playing him at the US Open earlier this year, Djokovic now has an 11-0 record against Fritz, and he also beat De Minaur when they played most recently at Wimbledon.
Despite leading the head-to-head against the six-time Grand Slam champion, Djokovic lost his most recent match against Alcaraz at the US Open.
| Players in Novak Djokovic’s ATP Finals Group | Head-to-head vs Djokovic | Most recent match vs Djokovic |
| Carlos Alcaraz | 5-4 Djokovic | Alcaraz beat Djokovic, 6-4 7-6(4) 6-2 (US Open 2025) |
| Taylor Fritz | 11-0 Djokovic | Djokovic beat Fritz, 6-3 7-5 3-6 6-4 (US Open 2025) |
| Alex de Minaur | 3-1 Djokovic | Djokovic beat De Minaur, 1-6 6-4 6-4 6-4 (Wimbledon 2025) |
Has Novak Djokovic ever not qualified from his ATP Finals group?
Djokovic is the most successful player in ATP Finals history, having won seven titles at the year-end tournament.
The Serbian has also qualified for the ATP Finals every year between 2007 and 2025, other than 2017 when he was hampered by an elbow injury, and last year he chose not to play.

Despite his dominance at the year-end tournament, Djokovic has still lost at the round-robin stage on four previous occasions, including his debut appearance in 2007 when he lost all three of his matches.
| Year | Novak Djokovic’s ATP Finals Result |
| 2007 | Exited at the round-robin stage |
| 2008 | Won the title |
| 2009 | Exited at the round-robin stage |
| 2010 | Lost in the semifinals |
| 2011 | Exited at the round-robin stage |
| 2012 | Won the title |
| 2013 | Won the title |
| 2014 | Won the title |
| 2015 | Won the title |
| 2016 | Lost in the final |
| 2018 | Lost in the final |
| 2019 | Exited at the round-robin stage |
| 2020 | Lost in the semifinals |
| 2021 | Lost in the semifinals |
| 2022 | Won the title |
| 2023 | Won the title |
Djokovic will be hoping to avoid a repeat of that in 2025, and his head-to-head against the players he is in a group with suggests that will be the case.
However, before he potentially plays in Turin, Djokovic will have his attention on his quarterfinal in Athens against Nuno Borges.
