Novak Djokovic has finally clinched a long-awaited Olympic gold medal, beating Carlos Alcaraz at Paris 2024.

Djokovic says Olympic gold is arguably his biggest success, having only just lost to Alcaraz at the Wimbledon final.

Alcaraz meanwhile was visibly upset after the Olympics clash, but he will undoubtedly bounce back from the loss quickly.

The pair could meet again on the court very soon, with Djokovic now revealing what their relationship is actually like after their latest encounter.

“It could be the Olympics of my career,” Djokovic said after the match. “For him, he is very young. Without doubt he can win not just one, but more Olympic gold medals for Spain.

Carlos Alcaraz set for many more honours despite Olympics loss

Djokovic used every single bit of his experience to grind out the win against Alcaraz, despite being constantly pushed by the Spaniard.

The Serbian battled extremely hard to win 7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (7-2) in Paris, much to the delight of those watching on inside the stadium.

Olympic gold was the one honour that Djokovic has long been searching for throughout his illustrious career.

Alcaraz meanwhile came very close this time around, but aged just 21, he will have several more attempts at an Olympic medal.
