The Montreal Open is in full swing as one of the warm-up tournaments ahead of the US Open that gets underway later this month.
Despite the tournament being in its early stages, there have already been some strange results making some of the headlines.
American star Frances Tiafoe has bowed out, whilst local hopeful Denis Shapovalov crashed out to Brandon Nakashima.
Naturally, Nick Kyrgios has been keeping his eyes peeled on the results and he’s made a claim about Jordan Thompson after the Australian claimed a big scalp.

Nick Kyrgios reacts as Jordan Thompson shocks emerging talent
Thompson was in action yesterday and claimed a scintillating victory over Great Britain’s number one player Jack Draper.
The Australian won in straight sets claiming a 7-5, 6-2 victory, crashing down five aces and winning 73% of his points on a first serve.
Thompson managed to win four of the nine break points he created for himself and he now faces Alexader Zverev later today.
Kyrgios thinks it’s only a matter of time before Thompson bursts onto the scene properly and he took to X following this one.
He said: “The world don’t know about Jordan Thompson. But they will.”
Thompson will have to up his level against Zverev but ultimately, with his knee still a bit of a concern there is every chance he will rack up another win.
Thompson needs more belief to climb world rankings
At 30-years-old, Thompson might have missed his calling to a certain extent.
His current ranking is the highest he’s ever been but he’s never reached a quarter-final in a Grand Slam event during his career.
However, all hope isn’t lost just yet when it comes to him making waves in the game.
Zverev will provide him with a stern test for certain but he will take a lot of confidence from beating Draper – who defeated Carlos Alcaraz at Queen’s prior to Wimbledon.
Kyrgios knows his stuff when it comes to tennis and clearly he thinks Thompson can become a late bloomer on the professional circuit.
