Nick Kyrgios is a man who isn’t backwards in coming forward when he has an opinion on something.
The Australian player has been out for over a year with a wrist injury – although Kyrgios has practised with Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon.
That might indicate that he’s not too far off a return to the court and it would be great for tennis if he could get back into some sort of competitive form.
Yesterday, Kyrgios was at Wimbledon as Taylor Fritz defeated Alexander Zverev – and he wasn’t happy with something which a commentator said.

This was a fascinating encounter between two of the game’s biggest servers and for some fans, it was gripping.
However, not everyone saw it that way and Kyrgios took aim at an unknown commentator who didn’t feel the match was captivating.
Kyrgios posted on X: “‘Not captivating’ – was a comment from a commentator who is going the Zverev & Fritz match. This alone tells me that they have probably never played tennis at a high level. Two of the most elite servers we have. Quite disrespectful. C’mon be better.”
The match saw Fritz come from two sets to love down to win 3-2 and set up a quarter-final berth against Lorenzo Musetti.

In our view, Kyrgios has pretty much nailed it with these comments and whoever made the comment simply should do better.
Andrew Castle and John Lloyd were covering the game for the BBC and it would appear it was one of those guys who made the claim.
The pair served up 34 aces between them and Fritz became the first player to break the serve of Zverev during the entire tournament.
Fritz will now look to go one step further and reach a Wimbledon semi-final for the very first time, with Musetti also taking this as a big opportunity.
Kyrgios is right though and the match was captivating even if many of the points played were short and sharp.
