Nick Kyrgios is in good spirits according to his latest update regarding his injury comeback.
The 29-year-old has been restricted to just one match since August 2022 after suffering multiple injuries, with the most recent being wrist surgery.
Though he has been enjoying his time in the Wimbledon commentary box and as a podcast host, the Australian is keen to start playing tennis again.
Kyrgios has been practicing with Novak Djokovic during his time at the All-England Club this year while simultaneously watching the 37-year-old try and win an eighth title.
Nick Kyrgios provides positive injury update after practicing with Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon
Kyrgios enjoyed his best result at a singles Grand Slam when he reached the Wimbledon final in 2022. He competed against Djokovic that day, who sealed a four-set win to claim glory at SW19 for the seventh time.
Two years later he has been hitting with Kyrgios on the practice courts to help him regain his rhythm ahead of his comeback.
While commentating on Djokovic’s semi-final against Lorenzo Musetti for the BBC, Kyrgios provided an injury update and explained if he wanted to continue doing commentary.
“Honestly I want to do both moving forward. I love being here and watching it and analysing it. But I do miss being out there. There’s nothing like being on this court, it’s the best court in the world,” he said.
“You know the rush it brings and I want to give the fans something to remember, whether it’s good or bad.
“I feel good, I had a two hour practice session this morning, and I’ve been hitting with Novak every other day, so it’s good, everything’s going well.”

Where was Nick Kyrgios’ last match?
Kyrgios’ last match on the ATP Tour came back in June 2023 at the beginning of the grass court season at the Stuttgart Open.
He took on China’s Wu Yibing in the opening round, but suffered a 7-5, 6-3 defeat and Kyrgios has not played since.
That was Kyrgios’ first match since the Cincinnati Open in 2022, where he was beaten by Taylor Fritz and won just five five games in the process.
The player’s last Grand Slam was the 2022 US Open, where he suffered a narrow five-set defeat to Karen Khachanov.
