Nick Kyrgios hasn’t returned to the ATP Tour since the Miami Open, but he has been keeping tabs on the WTA Tour.

Kyrgios called Aryna Sabalenka the best in the world after she won the Miami Open, a tournament in which he also competed.

The Australian came from behind to beat Mackenzie McDonald in his opener, but Kyrgios was then knocked out by 22nd seed Karen Khachanov.

Kyrgios said Khachanov was too good in that clash, which came after the former retired hurt during his opener at Indian Wells.

It remains to be seen what is next for the 2022 Wimbledon finalist, with the ATP and WTA calendars rapidly progressing towards the French Open.

Nick Kyrgios shocked by ‘wild’ comment from Harriet Dart mid-match

The Open de Rouen is currently taking place on the latter, where Harriet Dart has caused controversy with her on-court actions in round one.

During the match, the Briton asked the umpire to tell her French opponent Lois Boisson to wear deodorant because she was smelling “really bad”.

And Kyrgios has now given his take on the bizarre situation, writing on X: “Nah saying this when you are down and getting snipped is wild”.

Dart, who is currently ranked 110th in the WTA Tour rankings, went on to lose her match with Boisson 6-0, 6-3.

It truly was a remarkable comment for Dart to make, with the question for the umpire likely to gain plenty of criticism in the coming days.

She has, however, at least issued an apology for her actions, writing on her Instagram story: “Hey everyone, I want to apologise for what I said on court today, it was a heat-of-the-moment comment that I truly regret.

“That’s not how I want to carry myself, and I take full responsibility. I have a lot of respect for Lois and how she competed today. I’ll learn from this and move forward.”

Undoubtedly surprised, Boisson has, however, issued a light-hearted surprise, joking on her Instagram story about needing a collaboration with Dove deodorant.
