Aryna Sabalenka has won her 19th WTA title after beating Jessica Pegula to lift the Miami Open trophy for the first time.
Sabalenka had never surpassed the quarter-final stage at the Miami Open before this year, but overcame the likes of Danielle Collins, Qinwen Zheng, Jasmine Paolini and Pegula to do so.
This has cemented her place at the top of the WTA rankings even further, as Sabalenka continues to fend off Iga Swiatek.
Despite winning the Miami Open without dropping a set, this is the world number one’s first title since the start of the season, with Sabalenka the Australian Open final, before suffering the same fate at Indian Wells.
