Nick Kyrgios is one of the biggest characters in professional tennis and he’s been sorely missed on the tour for over a year now.
After undergoing career-saving surgery on his wrist, it now appears as though he’s ready to start hitting some balls again.
Kyrgios is very close to Novak Djokovic after their Wimbledon final in 2022 and yesterday the Aussie claimed he’d be willing to hit some balls in practice with the Serb.
It appears that the injury picked up by Kyrgios is a pretty unique one and the player is hoping to do something that nobody else has managed to do.

Nick Kyrgios details exactly what injury he’s had
It’s quite sad that the player has not been able to build on reaching that Wimbledon final and he still awaits his maiden singles Grand Slam title.
Now, in an exclusive interview, Kyrgios has shared what he’s been through and he’s hoping to do something pretty special despite the odds being stacked against him.
He told The Canberra Times: “The process has honestly been brutal.
“The surgery was almost 10 months ago and it’s not a very common injury, so we are experimenting how much we can push it.
“No one has really come back from an injury like this before. To now, being back on court, it’s pretty surreal.”
Tennis needs Kyrgios back in tournament action
The game of tennis needs characters and Kyrgios is certainly one player who brings that to court.
He always has his heart on his sleeve when he’s playing and his team came in for some tongue lashings during his run to the Wimbledon final in 2022.
Now, he has to focus on getting fully fit once again and hopefully, he’s over the worst with his wrist injury.
Kyrgios isn’t everyone’s cup of team and he’s come in for some criticism for a number of misdemeanours in the past.
Most notably his decision to walk on to Centre Court at Wimbledon wearing red instead of the traditional white that players must abide by.
However, he’s box office to watch and hopefully, it won’t be too long before he can be back in action.
