It’s over a year since Nick Kyrgios last graced a tennis court with a serious wrist injury proving problematic for the Australian.
The charismatic player reached the Wimbledon final in 2022 but lost a closely contested final to Novak Djokovic.
Kyrgios has become good friends with the Serbian player and quite clearly there is a lot of mutual respect between the two players.
Now, it would seem as though Kyrgios is over the worst after his career-saving surgery and has started hitting balls again.
Djokovic is facing a fight to be fit in time for the start of Wimbledon after withdrawing from Roland Garros with a knee injury.
Now, Kyrgios has made an offer to the serial Grand Slam winner ahead of the event getting underway at SW19 next week.

What Nick Kyrgios has offered Novak Djokovic ahead of Wimbledon
Kyrgios isn’t considering entering any tournaments just yet as he continues to work hard at his fitness levels and getting himself right.
However, he is willing to put himself in Djokovic’s corner and has offered to hit some balls with the player ahead of Wimbledon.
He told The Canberra Times: “If he wants to have a hit at Wimbledon, I wouldn’t mind at all. That’s where my level was when I left. It’d be good to get back into it.
“Just to be in that environment, not necessarily participating in the tournament, but getting around it again and feeling like normal, it would be great.”
Kyrgios return would be great for tennis
Okay, so the Australian 29-year-old is an acquired taste and it’s easy to grasp why some tennis fans don’t like him.
However, he’s absolutely box office every time he’s out on the court and ultimately, the game needs characters like Kyrgios.
The Wimbledon finalist will probably be the first to say that he’s underachieved during his career.
Other than his appearance in the Wimbledon final two years ago, he’s never gone beyond the quarter-final at the other three major tournaments.
Kyrgios did have some success in the men’s doubles at the Australian Open in 2022, winning the title alongside Thansi Kokkinakis as his partner.
The love between Kyrgios and Djokovic is heartwarming and it now remains to be seen if the seven-time Wimbledon champion will accept his offer.
Hopefully, in the not-too-distant future, fans can see Kyrgios strutting his stuff out on the court once again.
